Volunteers make a difference!

The Department of Corrections relies on volunteers from within and around Sullivan County to provide needed programmatic services to the inmate population. In 2004, approximately 33 volunteers donated their time to assist us in providing inmates with:

  • Alcoholics anonymous
  • Bible Study
  • Spiritual Counseling
  • Parenting Class
  • Resume building and job interviewing
  • Men's Support Group
  • Financial "Getting ahead and Staying ahead"
  • Nutrition

The department would like to take this time to thank the volunteers that dedicate a lot of time and effort to the citizens of Sullivan County, the staff and inmates appreciate all you do.  We would also like to recognize the volunteers that have been awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award.

  • Robert Hanson - 2004
  • Guy Ouellette - 2005
  • Herve Ferland - 2006

If you would like further information on becoming a volunteer, please contact Lt. Doug Roberts.
