Law Enforcement Role and Authority

County Sheriff's Office receives its legally mandated authority from the
New Hampshire Constitution, Part #2 Article 71, and additionally from the
New Hampshire revised Statutes Annotated, (RSA) section {104:6}. All High
Sheriffs or the elected official of the county are authorized to appoint
deputies to assist in carrying out the duties mandated by the laws of the
